Sylvai was an amazing person whose determination and humor will always be remembered and appreciated.
She showed a lot of us what you can do if you put your mind to it.
She will always be remembered with appreciation and fondness.

I was devastated when I saw the list of classmates who aren't with us any more. What happened to them all? I would really like to know.

Sylvia was my first friend when I arrived in Salt Lake. We attended 6th grade at Madison Elementary, went to Central Jr. High together until I moved and attended Granite Park Jr. High. We established our friendship again after graduation. Sylvia married her 3rd husband that took her to upstate New York and in the Vermont area. She divorced that husband and finally got the life she was craving for all those years. She had three boys and finally a little girl. She had several grandchildren and was extremely happy. She loved living on the east coast. Many years went by before I realized how long it had been since we talked. I remember trying several times to call her but was disconnected. I was told by her passing from a fellow Granitian, Scott Bodell (1968 grad)at Sylvia's mother's viewing. I really miss her and wish I could share my life with her today.

It has taken me while to post this as Syl's death was such a shock. Syl did not live that far from me and once I got my driver's license, I would pick Syl up in my Desota(old, old, old car)to go to school, we were running late one day, and can you believe I got a speeding ticket driving a Desota! We laughed about that for years. Syl and I worked together as well. I knew Syl as a fun, caring classmate, but also as a good and gentle mother, a devote wife. She is missed
