 Vicki Ann Ligeros "Grandma Vicki"
On Wednesday, June 28, 2000, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and most of all our friend passed away. She was born July 24, 1951 to her parents Andrew and Lee Sopko. She attended Granite High School where she met and fell in love with George Ligeros and would later marry on Oct. 5, 1968. Vicki enjoyed swimming with her grandchildren, taking long walks, reading, and music; but most of all spending time with her family. She had a big heart, kind words, and always had great advice for all of her family and friends. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She will forever be missed by all. Survived by her husband, George; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jenifer (Larry) Mullenax, Christie (Jay) Parks. Proud Grandma to five grandchildren, Andrew, Cody, Kaitie, Megan, and Breann; mother, Lee; brothers, Lonnie and Rick. "We love you, Vicki, and will miss you everyday." Services will be held Wed., July 5, 2000 at 12 noon at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 Soh. Visitation will be Tues., July 4, from 6-8 p.m. and on Wed. from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South.

Viki and I were close friends for a time. We sadly lost touch a few years after we were both married. I talked to George Ligeros and he told me that Viki always said she would die young. She died June 28, 2000 in her sleep. She had an enlarged heart that had not been diagnosed. George also told me that she was a significant part of her Grand Children's life and that they loved her and miss her very much. Rest in Peace Viki.

Love
Margo

My baby sister was the flower girl at Vicki and George's wedding. She was three and George's uncle got her smashed. It was very entertaining seeing a three year old running down the isle with her dress up over her head!
Vicki was a friend and was wild and crazy and was so delighted to be a mother and grand mother. She loved her family more than life itself.
I will always remember when all of us would stay over at her house and end up trowing up on her lawn. Her mom told us what would happen but we had to find out for ourselves.
I think of her often and know the love she felt for her family lives on.

I always liked Vickie. She had neat hair. We had some good times after she got married and it was so cool to go to her apartment. It felt so grown up. She had a way that she tilted her head. I am saddend by the loss of our friend.
