I escaped Utah and settled in San Diego in 1993. I enjoy everything about San Diego, except the cost of owning a home.
I don't miss the bad weather, too cold, too hot, too wet, too dry, etc. None of that here, just nice, all the time.
I keep busy with the business, old cars and trucks. I have several MGs, one I've owned since 1970, and a 1939 GMC truck hot rod car hauler. I ride a V-twin Suzuki, Donna rides a Yamaha. I sail whenever I get a chance, I am licensed to Captain up to a 50' boat in open water. One of the reasons I moved to San Diego was to be closer to the ocean so I could sail. The Great Salt Lake or Deer Creek were not good places to sail.
We have all three kids close by and seven grand kids to be involved with. One grandson, Hunter, 13 yrs, was born with Spina Bifida, he lives with us, and we are very involved with his life and activity. He is involved in wheel chair motocross and adaptive surfing. He competes with the national junior surf team.
I enjoy designing and machining accessories for kids wheelchairs. It's good to have huge computer controlled CNC mills to cut small aluminum blocks to mount water bottles on a little kids chair.
