Wow..... just saw this in the morning's newspaper. And we just saw Rick a few months ago at the 40th reunion. Life's end comes at us so quickly it seems.

I was lucky enough to be on the wrestling team with Rick and was always greatful that I was waaay too small to have to wrestle him in practice. He was a joker and a nice guy until he stepped on the mat. Then he was like a hungry bear. Years later, I bumped into Rick again while playing county rec softball. Man, could he hit the crap out of a softball. It might have been months, or years between when we'd see each other, but his laughing smile and warm greeting would make ya feel like he'd never left your side. I'm glad to have been able to call him my good friend and I'll miss not being able to watch him swing for the fence... Rest In Peace my Good Friend Rick.

I knew Rick at Granite but I really got to know him a lot better when we worked together putting the 25 year class reunion together, Rick, Dave Simmons and I worked together to make that happen. Rick had a tough life, but a great positive attitude, always happy and trying to make the most of any situation. He was a great athlete, wrestling does not get the recognition that some other sports get, Rick was one of the best wrestlers to ever wrestle at Granite High. Rick was really "A Good Guy"!

Had the pleasure to wrestle with Rick even though I was on the freshman team until a skiing accident. Rick was always a top wrestler and a very friendly person with a sweet spirit. Best wishes to his family.

Rick was always a kind guy. He never seemed to really have a bad word to say about anyone. I wish I could say the same about me. We were part of the parking lot crew and we had some great laughs back in the day. I saw him at the reunion and I'm so grateful I got to see him that last time. Rest in peace my man.

Does any one know if Rick owned a 1969 Blue Camero?  I think he would have bought it after Graduation.   I can't remember if it was his car that he let me drive, it still had the new sticker in the window.  Please help me if you can Thanks Bernice

FYI, Rick owned a 1969 Camaro  Super Sport for several years.

Rick also served in the US Army. He was drafted in March 1971 (draft lottery #81).

I ran into Rick while we were stationed at Fort Ord,  CA. His sense of humor was still amazing.

He was released in July of 1971 due to a medical issue.
