Kristine Doxey Kiholm

Graduated from BYU in '75 in Elementary Ed. and Social Science, also attended U of U 3 yrs, and U.S. International U. in Colorado 1 year. Married my sweetie Rick, in June '74 in the Salt Lake Temple then helped him through dental school in CA. Yes, he is the same big blond Ca guy who used to visit Granite High and the Seminary building with me! We met at 14 yrs old! We've lived in a lovely home with an acre+ with my 3 horses and a huge yard and garden I play in, for the last 22 years. I teach music and piano lessons one day a week, also took up the harp and perform often. I've led many adult and children's choirs over the years and teach voice lessons sometimes. I was able to sing in the celestial room choir with Pres. Hinckley for the Sacramento Temple dedication. I am looking to take a year of classes to become a licensed musical practicioner and play harp to calm the terminally ill.
My husband and I travel extensively every year to seminars and to see new places (and our grandchildren!). Besides the gardening and veggies I grow and sometimes sell to local health food stores, and riding horses in the national forest close by, I like to read, scrapbook, make crafts of all kinds, paint, and design & sew clothes. We will be empty nesters next year when our last girl goes to BYU-Idaho, and we are talking about going on a mission together. Life has been good to us and we are blessed with nature's beauty, music, and sweet children.
If any of you are up this way in northern CA on highway 50 between Sacramento and So. Lake Tahoe, we'd love you to stop by and visit; we have lots of rooms empty now. Hey, we'll leave the light on for ya!

I treasure the fun opportunities we had at Granite High - choir and performing in musicals with Mr. Rogers (even though not being chosen to sing in the Madrigals just about killed me!), modeling for ZCMI Youngtimers, being in plays, going to the great football games to see Golden Richards' prowess and Cheryl Collett's sweetness, the leadership and example of Julie Nelson and Glen Park, the wit and intelligence of Tom Siirola and Tom Wharton, and Brent Larsen's swimming. I remember the beautiful proms and being crowned at the Seminary dance; the guitar playing of Jerry Reed, Tom Harrison and Marsha Barratt, the vivaciousness of Debbie Card and the strength of character of Armand Johansen. THANK YOU for the great friendship of so many especially Bonnie Black, Ed Belka, Steve Pocock and childhood buddy Diane Jerman who let me have my wedding reception at her lovely house. I have so many warm feelings as I think of the wonderful and talented classmates I was priveledged to share high school with. Rich, wonderful memories all with the best of people! THANK YOU!
