I attended Ricks College in Rexburg, ID 1969-70 and then worked at Jackson Lake Lodge that summer. Next I attended BYU in Utah. I left there to go to Boston, Massachusetts to work in 1971. I went on a LDS Mission to Missouri, Independence from 1973-74. I again attended BYU and worked at the new Law School Library. I left there to go back to Boston, MA in 1976 and worked at Allyn & Bacon Book Publishers. I was married to Raymond Baker while living there. We left the Boston area for Ray to attend the Univ. of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA in 1977. It was there that our oldest 2 daughters were born- Emily 1978 & Valerie 1980. We moved to Endicott, NY after school where Ray worked at IBM Corporation as an Electrical Engineer for 20 years, then when IBM left he cahnged to work for a local company that bought out the plant: Endicott Interconnect Technology. Our daughter Deborah was born in 1986. I stayed home with my children, volunteering in the community. I belong to a Community Women's Group where I was the director of a Museum on our town and wrote a booklet "Hooper Yesterday, Endwell Today" about where we live. I returned to work when our youngest entered school. I worked in the Local Public Library, the Community College Library (while there I served as Board member of at Statewide organization for Library Assts.), and finally a Middle School Library. I was the Secretary of the Director of Medical Services for the Department of Social Services in Broome Co. NY. I am now retired. My husband is a Scout leader and outdoors man. So I have learned to Backpack and Kayak and that is what we do in our free time. The thing I have done for the longest time is belong to a Literature Group. It started in 1981 and continues today. I am currently President. We read a book each month and get together to discuss it. So I have a list of over 300 books I have read in the last 30+ years. We also go on field trips to Musuems around New York state. I also do Scrapbooking and Stamping Cards.
I have just gone through a year long recovery from Breast Cancer.
