Glen Park

I married Dianne Jerman in 1972. We have six children and 33 grandchildren.
We both graduated from the University of Utah. I also received my law degree from the U. of U., and have practiced law since 1976.
Dianne, our children and I have traveled to many countries in the world, and visited most of the States.
I had my first heart attacks and bypass surgery in 1991. Although there were complications, I made it to 2004, when I went through the final process of dying. After going into cardiac arrest for approximately 15 minutes, I was revived, barely holding on. The next day, after blood work showed my liver had ceased functioning, I was removed from the heart transplant list. The first heart in more than two months came available, and I did not get it. The next day, although the combination of being on very strong medicine and the extremely critical condition I was in usually means that organs that once stop do not come back, my liver was again working. I was put back on the list, and the following morning, I received a heart transplant. The surgeon told Dianne that the 2nd heart was a better match for me than the 1st one would have been. I feel very fortunate to be alive.
Unfortunately, my medicines make my face, neck and stomach puff up. Oh well. That's life, and I'll take it.

Following the assembly that announced the results of the student-body elections at the end of our junior year, my niece, who was nearly 10 months older than I, and a senior at Granite, came up to me and gave me a hug. We talked and then went to lunch with our separate friends.
At lunch, one of my friends asked, "Who was the gorgeous babe who was all over you after the assembly?"
I replied, "My niece."
He responded, pointing in different directions, "Oh sure, there's my aunt and there's my grandmother!"
