I left in Nov. 1969 on a mission to Alaska and British Columbia, Canada. When I came home, I met Janet Lawrence, Vicky (Broadhurst) Burhhardt's cousin and we were married shortly thereafter. We have moved our family around somewhat, spending a few years in Alaska, ten years or so in Wyoming and the last twenty one years in Idaho. We moved to Brigham City, Utah in 2012 and have loved being closer to our children and 32 grandchildren. Most of my career has been in the oil refining, natural gas production and pipelining business. I worked for Chevron Corporation and Caribou Oil Refining (Maverik). I also worked for the State of Alaska, on the Alaska Marine Highway, sailing on the M.V. Matanuska, making our home in Ketchikan, AK. I worked for Micron Technology for a few years producing computer chips in Boise. We moved to Brigham City, Utah after I retired and have enjoyed the Temple and community. I have been a scheduler and tour guide for the Box Elder Tabernacle for the last five years.
We have seven wonderful children, two boys and five girls, resulting in thirty-three grandchildren to date. We are now empty-nesters, attempting to keep up with the grand kids! We just returned from an 18 month Mission in Columbus, Ohio. serving as Family Search Records Preservation Missionaries. We were also assigned as MLS support in the Nepali Branch in the Columbus area. It was a great experience and we love these people!
